New World’s closed beta came to an end, and since then, the developers have been working on feedback from the community. Unfortunately, the company did run into some serious issues such as the 3090 graphics card debacle and the fact that the game had to be delayed until September 28th, from its originally scheduled late August release. However, the company is excited to enter the open beta phase.

As the Open Beta phase launches, the company has made some changes to various aspects of the game including Expeditions, Quests, Tech as well as AI adjustments. Furthermore, there were a great amount of notable bug fixes to the arena, expeditions and more. Check out the patch notes here.

To access the Open Beta, players should do the following:

  1. Open Steam

  2. Navigate to the New World Steam page

  3. Scroll down a bit and you will see “Join the New World Open Beta Playtest”

  4. Click “Request Access”

In New World, players find themselves shipwrecked on the expansive island of Aeternum where they must fight, survive, forage and more amongst the island’s ruins and wilderness. Players can choose to enjoy the PVE or PVP aspects. From the closed beta, it appears that the game’s PVP experience is amazing and sets itself apart from other games.
