Overwatch Heads to the Beach to Play Sports This Summer

With Overwatch’s second anniversary behind us, it’s time to move on to the game’s first ever official event, the Summer Games. Naturally, that means a ton of new cosmetics, and Blizzard is more than happy to reveal them to us ahead of the event’s official start.

As the tweets show, both skins will be of Legendary “rarity,” meaning you’ll have to have all your bases covered throughout the event to maximize the amount of loot boxes you earn, or just throw money at the game until you get what you want. Legendary skins cost 3000 coins.

Blizzard also recently revealed shiny new skins for D.va and Reinhardt, both of which will also be legendary.

The Summer Games kick off this Thursday, August 9th, and will run through August 30th. Lucioball will be making a comeback, along with more yet-to-be-revealed cosmetics, although I’m not sure if anyone will need much more than that D.va skin, except maybe Zenyatta with a lei.

Blizzard recently put a huge dent in the game’s toxic community with the introduction of an endorsement system, and announced a collaboration with Hasbro to make officially licensed Overwatch Nerf guns.

Overwatch is currently available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Let us know what you think of the new skins in the comments and stay tuned to COGconnected for all the latest gaming news!
