Yeah, but Does It Run Crys- Yes, It Does

Earlier this month, Crysis Remastered was delayed a short while for some polishing, which fans said was sorely needed. However, last week, Crytek said that while the PC, Xbox One, and PS4 versions would be delayed, the Nintendo Switch version was going to release right on schedule. Apparently, it looks good enough that they are comfortable with this release. Today, Crytek released a Crysis Remastered trailer to show off the game on the Switch, and by Prophet, it looks really good.

Crysis Remastered

The trailer was captured on the Switch at 720p – 30fps. It shows off the different technical features the game will be providing, starting off with Vegetation Bending, so leaves and branches will move when being shot at or passed through by enemies. No more shooting into a bush and just hoping that you hit something. The objects in the world will suffer from gunfire with Destructible Environments. We see the demoer playing like me, where they shoot all sorts of tables, shelves walls, just to see the stuff fall down and break. The Dynamic Lighting shows off how the lighting adapts as the light sources change. If there are hanging lights, for example, shooting them will cause the lighting to change as it swings around. We also see Voxel-Based Global Illumination (SVOGI) in action as the environment becomes lit depending on the positioning of the sun.

The different light sources also give off Light Rays and Sunbeams for a more immersive experience. When aiming down sights, the effects of Depth of Field and Motion Blur. And a very exciting element in this version is the Gyro Aiming. Because this is on the Switch, players will be able to aim using the Switch’s motion controls for a mouse-like aiming experience. Another feature apparently worth mentioning: Sharks! That is what Nintendo Switch owners are in for. Crysis Remastered comes out on July 23rd for Nintendo Switch and at a later date for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
