Daybreak Games Signs Agreement For Magic: The Gathering Online

Daybreak Games is a subsidiary of Enad Global 7. It is a leading publisher and developer of various titles, particularly in the MMO scene. These titles include Everquest I, Everquest II, DC Universe Online and Planetside 2. The company has also worked on Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons and Dragons Online. Wizards of the Coast is the company behind the groundbreaking franchises, Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons. Thus, it is no surprise that Daybreak Games and Wizards of the Coast have struck a license agreement pertaining to Magic: The Gathering Online.

The companies have announced that they have officially entered a long term license agreement to develop, provide a live service and publish Magic: The Gathering Online. Magic: The Gathering Online will be the online version of the historic and epic tabletop game, Magic: The Gathering.

There are no details on the deal just yet. However, given the history of both companies, Magic: The Gathering Online is heading in the right direction. The game first went live in 2002, a much different time than the present. The digital sphere has grown so much that the possibilities are now endless for two major companies.

Ji Ham, CEO of Daybreak Games, stated, that the company is excited to work with Wizards of the Coast and improve upon Magic: The Gathering Online. 

Chris Cocks, President of Wizards of the Coast, noted that Magic: The Gathering Online was the company’s first venture into the digital world. He went further to state they are confident the two companies can build together.
