The Game Is Out This Tuesday

Desert Child has been on my radar since I saw the game demo at E3, and this latest trailer has cemented my interest. If you’re a fan of Cowboy Bebop the whole thing should look eerily, delightfully familiar. Thankfully, we only have to wait until December 11th before this one is released.

Desert Child

If you’re unfamiliar with Desert Child, it’s essentially a better version of the hoverbike level from Battletoads. Less punishing, more massive guns and exceptional visuals. The style is simple yet alluring, with a fantastic soundtrack to match. I’m pretty psyched for this game, if you couldn’t already tell. You can get away with a lot if you suck me in with the right music. Homages to classic anime are also a winning strategy.

This was only one of a huge load of excellent indie games shown off at the Kinda Funny Games Showcase this weekend. There were 69 announcements in total, which you can check out more of here. As much as I love the glitz and glamour of big shows like The Game Awards, it’s always a treat to see indie titles get their due. Desert Child is coming out this Tuesday for PC, PS4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch.
