Death Must Be Beautiful
Hideo Kojima has been hard at work to develop Death Stranding, the PS4-exclusive we still know very little about. Recently, the minds behind Horizon: Zero Dawn, Hermen Hulst and the team at Guerrilla Games, had a chance to see the title first-hand. They’re very impressed, apparently.
It’s easy to forget that the game engine for Death Stranding, Decima, was a gift from Guerrilla Games. Hideo Kojima adopted the software during his tour of the studio in Amsterdam, impressed as he was by its fidelity. He returned to the studio, recently, except this time they were the ones in awe.
Three years ago we gave @KojiPro2015_EN a copy of our @DecimaEngine in this box. Today @HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN came back to @Guerrilla to show us the incredible things he’s making with it in #DeathStranding. So impressed! pic.twitter.com/8dLpdIh1bI

Arguably, Horizon: Zero Dawn is one of the most impressive-looking games of this generation, so praise from its devs is high praise indeed. Hopefully, we’ll receive another in-depth look at Death Stranding, along with insight into its story, sooner rather than later. In Famitsu Weekly, Kojima playfully suggested that 2019 could be the year we see his next opus.
What are your thoughts on Hulst and the studio’s reaction? Has your excitement level changed in the slightest? Let us know in the comments below.
