Greg Miller Extends an Invitation to All Game Devs for a Kinda Funny Showcase
Yesterday Sony Executive Shawn Layden took to the PlayStation Blogcast to confirm that there will be no PSX 2018. Despite just how disappointing this is for PlayStation fans worldwide, it seems Greg Miller from Kinda Funny might just have a solution and has encouraged game devs to join in.
Following the news yesterday that there would be no PlayStation Experience this year, Greg Miller took to Twitter to announce that Kinda Funny would try to fill the void, hosting a showcase the Saturday following the Game Awards. Additionally, he extended an open invitation to all game developers hoping they would get in on the fun. You can check it out below.

Interestingly it seems there are quite a few studios who are interested in taking part of a Kinda Funny Games Showcase. Developers like Housemarque and Team Meat, as well as publishers Devolver Digital and Annapurna Interactive all replied expressing their interest. And it’s not just them, as Kitfox Games, Ysbryd Games, and AbleGamers also joined the list of studios looking to take part in the idea. Miller has since tweeted that there are plenty of developers and publishers looking to showcase some of their games through this Kinda Funny Games Showcase. You can see this below as well.

At this point it’s not exactly clear whether this was announced as a bit of a joke by Greg Miller or if we can truly expect a Kinda Funny Games Showcase to take place on December 8th, 2018. It’s also safe to assume that the games shown won’t just be limited to PlayStation, and will be open to Switch, Xbox One, and PC titles as well. Additionally, how it would be presented remains a bit hazy as well, though when asked by Twitter user Warpeddart13 if it would similar to Nintendo Direct or more akin to Kinda Funny’s morning show where “the garbage truck can still catch fire,” Miller responded with, “Somewhere in between.”
Is this something you would be interested in watching? Would this fill the void left by Sony, at least in part? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and don’t forget to keep it locked for updates!
