Stats for the Resident Evil 2 Demo Are Officially Available and They’re Pretty Interesting
Just a couple of short days ago the One-Shot demo for the Resident Evil 2 remake went live and now we’re finding out some interesting details about it. Earlier today, Capcom updated the official global statistics on the game’s website and it appears to be doing very well, with over 1 million players joining in on the fun.
The demo gives players a 30 minute experience to figure out if you’d like to purchase the game when it drops at the end of the month. Now, just a few days after its release it’s been discovered that, at the time of writing 1,334,052 players have dived into the nitty gritty horror game. Of course, the number could be much higher than that as the data comes only from those who have agreed to the RE NET Play Data settings. With the way this is going, it wouldn’t be surprising if more than 2 million people were playing by next weekend.
So how does the U.S. stack up against Japan or Europe? Well, let’s just say that while Europe may have the lead, accounting for close to 500,000 players, the U.S. has 292,209 players, and Japan has 279,169 players. What’s more interesting however is that while there more than 1.3 million people have jumped into the Resident Evil 2 demo, only 28% of these players have actually completed the demo. While it’s unclear why the completion rate is so low, it will be interesting to see if this stat will increase or decrease as more join the fun. You can check out these stats for yourself right here on the official Resident Evil 2 website.
Of course, you can try and increase that percentage by joining in the RE 2 demo that’s currently available between now and January 31st. It might make for some practice too before the full game drops on January 25th Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Have you joined the demo? Have you beaten it?
