Ch-Ch-Changes

Borderlands 3 fans were treated to a temporary event last month. For a couple of weeks, the first Takedown was scaled to the active party. Normally, it is fixed to challenge even the highest level full party. Well, that event is over, but that doesn’t mean players can’t solo it anymore. According to Gearbox, there has been some demand for this option to stay. So, they decided to permanently keep it. The vanilla Takedown challenge is being replaced by something they are calling True Takedown Mode. Now, we can have it both ways; solo and doable, and team-up and oh-my-god-I-hate-this.

Borderlands 3 Update

This will be implemented some time this month, but Gearbox has not specified when. The scaling event also ran parallel with a rare item drop and rare enemy spawn boost event. That was also meant to end, but Gearbox is feeling extra generous. These rare-effects are also being kept permanently. Basically, this means that all the rushing and grinding that your ol’ pal Zane was doing these last couple of weeks has been all for some sweet loot that I could have taken my time getting.

Also, since these changes were announced along with some hotfixes, Gearbox fixed a couple of things regarding Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot and Rare Chest Riches Event. Beyond this new event, we have no concrete news about what is in store for the future of Borderlands 3, which means less for for me, since I seem to be obsessed with everything Borderlands. If Randy Pitchford changes his favourite breakfast cereal, I’ll be the first to know. Borderlands 3 is available now on Stadia, PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
