Several Separate Reports All Say So
We don’t actually have a release date for The Last of Us 2. What we do have is several separate sources leaning real hard on that February 2020 window. This isn’t the same thing as a release date, but it’s extremely close, all things considered.
First off, there’s an interview with Ashley Johnson. When pressed for a release date, she gives a single half-syllable before catching herself. Okay so a tiny “feh” isn’t exactly an Amazon ad, but it’s a start. Kotaku’s Jason Schreier recently stated that the game’s release was bumped from Fall 2019 to early 2020. Early here quite possibly meaning February? It’s better than “feh,” right?
Finally, analyst Daniel Ahmad appeared on ResetEra, also stating that the game’s internal release date is currently set at February 2020. Once again, this isn’t the same thing as an official release date. But I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that this release window is indeed the correct one. After all, there’s only so much time left before we get into PS5 territory.
