The Alpha is Available if You Pre-Order Before July 9, 2019

TemTem is an upcoming MMO that first found support on Kickstarter. The game is attracting a ton of support, amassing over 500,000 extra dollars than their initial goal sets out. The game promises to be extremely similar to the beloved Pokemon franchise, with PC Gamer saying it is “as close to a Pokémon MMO as legally possible”. In anticipation of the full release, the TemTem team is offering access to their alpha test for anyone who pre-orders the game before July 9, 2019.

TemTem looks about as close as fans of the Pokemon series can get to an MMO. The blurb that Kickstarter offers for TemTem says “Every kid dreams about becoming a Temtem tamer; exploring the six islands of the Airborne Archipelago, discovering new species, and making good friends along the way. Now it’s your turn to embark on an epic adventure and make those dreams come true.”

It continues, “Catch new Temtem on Omninesia’s floating islands, battle other tamers on the sandy beaches of Deniz or trade with your friends in Tucma’s ash-covered fields. Defeat the ever-annoying Clan Belsoto and end its plot to rule over the Archipelago, beat all eight Dojo Leaders, and become the ultimate Temtem tamer!”

The commonalities to Pokemon are extremely evident. The objective of the game is to ctach and train a team of “TemTems”, and battle the “dojo” leaders to become the best “tamer”. There are countless varieties of TemTems, each with there own strengths and weaknesses.

If this sounds appealing to you, the pre-order is temporarily avaialble on Steam. The only caveat is this particular version is far from a complete product. The TEmTem team writes, “The Alpha is NOT a finished game, and it’s very far away from being one. This is a super early in development version of the game and its main objective is to help make Temtem better in the long run. As such, this version is very limited in content, features and balance. You’re expected to find bugs and work-in-progress content. You should adjust your expectations having all these in mind. Please be aware that all progress in the Alpha can and will be wiped at any given time. No progress in the Alpha will be migrated to the final game.”
