Death Stranding

The highly anticipated game from Kojima Productions, Death Stranding released to somewhat of a mixed response, but we here at COGconnected enjoyed it for the experience it brought. With a gameplay loop that was more fun and rewarding than we expected, impressive visuals, and top notch acting by the cast, Death Stranding is Kojima unfiltered. In our review, we found that “its central mechanic is a monotonous, everyday piece of modern life, and somehow Kojima has managed to make that a very satisfying thing to do.”

Pokemon Sword & Shield

Despite some controversy surrounding a “National Pokedex”, Pokemon Sword and Shield has thus far performed exactly as Pokemon usually does. With the franchise’s first foray with a mainline entry on the Nintendo Switch, the developers brought it with a decent narrative and the typical Pokemon gameplay. In our review, we found that “Pokemon Sword and Shield present a revitalizing and refreshing perspective on the series, taking steps back to the series’ roots to remind players what it means to try and become the Pokemon Champion.”

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

I think we can safely say that gamers have been waiting a while for a high quality single player Star Wars experience. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a title that had high hopes riding on it as well as cautious optimism. Fortunately, Respawn Entertainment lived up to expectations and put the lightsaber back into player hands. In our review, we noted that “the story, characters, and gameplay all begin strong and significantly evolve until the end.”
