The Biggest Game Awards Ever?

On December 6, “Worlds Will Change,” and that’s how Geoff Keighley teased the biggest announcement lineup of any awards season. This year’s The Game Awards promises more than last year, which would explain why it’s been made available on more video platforms.

This year’s presentation will include more new game reveals than last year. “On December 6 #TheGameAwards will stream live on a record 40 global video platforms,” Keighley wrote on Twitter. “With our biggest lineup yet in terms of new game announcements, it’s going to be a very exciting night filled with surprises and celebration. Worlds Will Change. Will You? ”

That’s a weighted promise when you consider the length and lineup of last year’s show. In 2017, we received a tease of From Software’s Sekiro: Shadows Die TwiceIn The Valley of the Gods from Campo Santo, and our first look at SoulCalibur VI. In addition, we got another look at Death Stranding through a very lengthy and bizarre trailer. The question now is, will The Game Awards 2018 top the previous year?

For anyone keeping count, last year’s awards show stream lasted nearly three hours. There were quite a few reveals, on-stage influencers, and Josef Fares. If you’re hoping for another spectacle, you can tune in through any of 40 video streaming platforms, the details of which should be released soon. Tune in on December 6th, 2018, at 5:30 pm PT/8:30 pm ET.
