This Eerily Sounds Like the Demands of a Supervillain in a Spy Movie
Skyrim has come out on so many platforms that it’s practically a joke amongst the gaming community these days. In fact, during their E3 conference last month, Bethesda revealed that the game had even been ported to a smart fridge (among other appliances).
However, if you’re sick and tired of Skyrim being ported so often then Bethesda studio director Todd Howard has a simple solution: stop buying the ports so much!
Speaking at a panel during this year’s Gamelab conference, Howard claimed that even though it’s been out for seven years now, “millions of people every month” are still playing Skyrim.
“That’s why we keep releasing it. If you want us to stop releasing it, stop buying it,” Howard said. Howard also spoke about wanting to make game worlds “sustainable” in the long-term.
“Every year there’s a new idea we can’t do, and a new technology for something that excites us,” Howard said. “I’d say I want it to be sustainable.”
“Eventually there will come a day where I’m not making games at Bethesda,” he also said. “Hopefully that’s a long time away. But I want to make sure that who we are, what the worlds are, what the company is, that’s sustainable far beyond me.”
